A hot desk is a desk available within our co-working area, rather than within a private office space. They are typically first-come-first-served, unless you are one of our Gold Members.

Hot desks are available to book on an hourly or monthly basis, with options for hybrid workers (3 days per week) or those wanting their own reserved desk whenever they need it.

Our Lower Ground Floor building on Broad Street offers a large desk with multiple chairs, plus sofas. Our Ground Floor building at Two Smithfield also offers hot desk booths. If you would like a divider whilst working, please let us know.

We’ve made it easy for you to book online.

If you’re wanting to book a Hot Desk for more than one day, or one of our Meeting Rooms, you will need to register with us first. It’s free, and enables you to manage your bookings. You can also then opt in to receive information about our events and member-exclusive offers, giving you even more for your time at Smithfield Works.

Single-day hot desks can be booked without registering.

One the day your booking starts, you will receive an email from Paxton, our app-based entry system. Once downloaded, simply tap your mobile against the reader by the entrance doors.

Please note that access times may be restricted based on your membership level and building privileges.

If you have any problems, our Community Manager or Estate Manager will usually be around. For out of hours access, please contact us beforehand to arrange.

Private Office Suite and Gold Hot Desk members have 24/7 access following our getting to know you period.

We have free guest WiFi throughout Smithfield Works.

If you are working in our co-working area, please ensure your pet does not enter any of the Private Offices or Meeting Rooms.

You’ll receive information of how to set this up once you have registered with us.

To connect your laptop to the meeting room TVs, you will need to have an HDMI port or HDMI to USB-C adaptor. Simply plug the HDMI cable from the TV into your device – or if using the boardroom, the HDMI cable will be on the table.

For Zoom calls, you will need to plug in both the HDMI and the USB. Teams calls work via HDMI, or the call device in the boardroom.

Most services are paid for online once you become a Smithfield Works member.

Invoices can be arranged if you require.

Private Office Suite members are welcome to have post and deliveries made – please ensure your business name and office number are clearly stated on the address.
